You know how you get annoyed in a movie? Not with the movie itself, but because people are laughing so loud during the movie that you can't hear the movie? This is one of those movies. Steve Carrell's acting debut as the 40 year old virgin is hilarious in the same vein as Old School or Road Trip. From him getting waxed to watching him try to hit on girls to the reactions and antics of his coworkers this movie will keep you laughing from beginning to end. Steve Carrell shines as Andy but he isn't alone in this movie. His 3 coworkers (Played by Paul Rudd, Romany Malco, and Seth Rogen) play perfectly off of Carrell's personality and antics. They had me laughing as much as he did.
This movie is R-rated and proud of it. Language and sexual situation are constant. Nudity is sprinkled here and there and no violence of course. Not a movie for the whole family.
What a great way to end the summer movie season. Though I enjoyed Wedding Crashers, it wasn't even half as funny as this movie. As we move into the slower fall movie season, enjoy this naughty comedy that will keep you laughing all the way through.

I liked the movie however the DVD had some pretty useless extras. The gag reel was ok but the rest was subpar.

By far one of the funniest movies ever made. To me it is the best Judd Apatow film. Steve Carell is perfect for this role as a sexually awkward virgin. There is a lot of crude humor, but it ends with a message that all of us can agree with. It shows...

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I popped this movie into the DVD player, from the trailer I gathered it would be something like American Pie which I loved but I had my doubts that the writer/director would hold back and create a "safe"...

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I popped this movie into the DVD player, from the trailer I gathered it would be something like American Pie which I loved but I had my doubts that the writer/director would hold back and create a "safe" comedy. I was wrong! The film is a cross between Office Space and American Pie, the actors are spot on especially the lead, Steve Carell. Who is this guy? Where did he come from? I kept asking myself during the movie, "Where has this guy been hiding?", he is truly a comedic genius! I found myself laughing out loud through most of the film which is a rarity in most films lately, the writing is genuine and real. The conversations were not a lot unlike the conversation I have with my friends.
This movie is a real treat and for those of you who liked Office Space, American Pie, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle and There's Something About Mary you MUST see this one!

Funny enough, but quite long. Steve Carell plays his part brilliantly, and the supporting cast are all enjoyable enough to watch.

Hilarious!
This movie is so funny. I also like seeing a lonely man reborn when he gets a girlfriend and learns to love. Definitely recommended!

Silly, in a good way!
It's silly, but unlike others of its kind, it's not embarassingly so. You can laugh out loud without hesitation... And it finally made me appreciate Catherine Keener as well.
