Summary of The 27 Club
A 28th birthday is a major milestone for a musician. Legendary performers like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain didn’t live longer than 27 years, and their legacy haunts those who devote their lives to rock. In this drama, famous musician Tom (James Forgey) dies on his 27th birthday, leaving his best friend and bandmate, Elliot (Joe Anderson, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE), to wonder if he can escape a similar fate. Enlisting the help of a grocery store employee (David Emrich) as his driver, Elliot travels across the country for his friend’s funeral, meeting a beauty (Eve Hewson) along the way. Writer-director Erica Dunton makes her debut with this finely crafted film.
