BOOOOOOORING! Go back to music videos, McG. This clunker stinks. The first two Terminators were by far Cameron's best movies -- then he flushed plot and character in favor of eye candy, beginning with Abyss. Salvation follows in this vein. I'm going to go back and watch the first two again, and I'm not going to bother with any more sequels -- especially if they're directed by some music video twerp who thinks it's cool to use only three letters from his name. 10/10Must See
The Trailer and advertising have done this film poor service, they chose the wrong clips. This is the best of the TERMINATOR films. Each TERMINATOR film serves up more information on SKYNET, this is the film that begins to pull all of the information gathered in the previous 3 films and the TV version, SARAH CONNORS CHRONICLES. In this film you will find more jaw-dropping action, Terminators that are bigger and badder than anything seen previously, a storyline that makes sense. A storyline that makes you ask who is SKYNET. And will one of our modern day Skynets become self-aware? I loved this film and I give it 5*****STARS.

Terminator Salvation will still make tons of money, but Hollywood continues to sacrifice story for action and special effects. I remember when a film would have two or three really ridiculous special effects, but focused more on plot and dialog. This film further forfeits good storytelling for loud noises, vehicles that never down shift, and the standard explosions, which now take a helicopter just to film. Christian Bale takes the throne as John Connor and seems to channel Batman from time-to-time, at least in his voice and on one motorcycle that looks eerily similar to the one in The Dark Knight. He was as expected, but still lacks the necessary charisma. Terminator Salvation, like Bale, takes itself a little too seriously. The message is good, but needed further developing. Set in 2018, Connor leads the human resistance against Skynet and the army of Terminators. His understanding of the Terminators is altered when part human, part machine Marcus (Sam Worthington) appears. They have to figure out each other before taking down Skynet and stopping the impending end of humanity. It sounds like fun, and it is. I was entertained, and I suppose that's all this movie has to do. It tries to do a lot more, but fails miserably. Not enough time was spent on the story. It's just that simple. Like all the remakes and additions to classic franchises, this film is easy to follow for newcomers. The die hards will probably whine about something. They always do. On the whole, Terminator Salvation is a summer popcorn movie. So grab a refillable tub of it, a large soda and sit back and enjoy. It shakes the theater with roaring special effects and made two hours fly by. You'll like it, you won't remember it, but it at least gets you out of the heat. Oh wait, it's May and that should be enough of a clue that this one isn't nearly as good as some of the other action blockbusters yet to come. Three stars. tinyurl.com/pcl6rt

Not the same without Arnold, but not badly done either. Terminator fans will be glad they watched, but the theme may be exhausted. The special effects are excellent.

Laughably Bad
I'M JOHN CONNOR. Get use to hearing that because Bale will constantly remind you in an irritating, I'm trying way to hard, kind of a voice. All special effects and nothing else. It seems that everything in this movie is already treaded ground.
