Taking Lives, 2004

I hate the way this movies goes along. Everytime you want to really get into it and like this movie, the next scene pisses you off way too much or makes you fall asleep. The beginning was sorta slow until it sped up quickly. Then theres this huge blur for me. The filler there was so ridiculously boring that it took me 20 min to realize that this wasn't happening in America. Never before have I just zoned out watching a movie. I didn't even flinch at the long drawn out but rewarding Adaptation. This movie isn't a thriller; it's not a romance; its not even an action movie. There is no describing this. It is basically what happens when you go into a movie with an idea, but not really knowing how you want to portray it so you throw together anything that you've learned in film school and making it foreign as to alleviate a little blame from yourself. When action actually happened through the long drawn out unnecessarily simple, but stupid plot, it was good. You can tell that they did very little with very much. Seeing Angelina Jolie nude was almost rewarding and I can honestly say I was so depleted by this lackluster movie that the ending caught me off balance and didn't let me leave with too much of a bittersweet taste in my mouth.
