Stylistically, Summer Love is a spaghetti western, is epic, and is gory. In approach, it is serious and realistic. It takes place, at least partly, in a village and in a small town. Summer Love happens in the Old West.

Summary of Summer Love

Billed as the first Polish Western, DEAD MAN'S BOUNTY aka SUMMER LOVE is the debut film from artist Piotr Uklanski. The director brings his visual mastery to the screen in this English-language tale about iconic characters named the Stranger, the Woman, the Sheriff, and the Wanted Man. Val Kilmer plays the title role as a dead man brought into a desolate town on the shoulders of a bounty hunter eager to collect his reward. But when the prize corpse is soon lost in a poker game, a series of even more mystifying events follow. This moody and unique western demands repeated viewings to pick up on all the subtle points; the stylized use of color and composition should appeal to film fans who appreciate inventive cinematography and nontraditional approaches taken in a genre that is often plagued by clichés and rehashed plots.
