Summary of Strange Relations
Jerry Lipman (Paul Reiser) is a successful New York psychiatrist whose life is turned upside-down when he is diagnosed with leukemia. Breaking the news to his mother Esther (Olympia Dukakis), Jerry receives another shock when she tells him that he was adopted from a young working-class girl named Sheila (Julie Walters) in Liverpool, England. Determined to come to grips with his health and identity, Jerry travels to England in search of both a possible bone-marrow transplant and his biological mother, resulting in a tragicomic exploration of family and self-discovery.
