Profile of Step Up

The mood of Step Up is feel good and captivating. The plot centers around dancers, teenage love, and following your dreams. It is a drama, romance, and music-oriented movie. Stylistically, Step Up has a Hollywood tone. In approach, it is serious and realistic. It takes place, at least partly, at a dance school. Step Up is set in Maryland. It happens in contemporary times. The musical score is R&B and hip hop. Step Up is especially suggested for a girls' night and teens. Note that it includes mild violent content.

Not really a great movie but so much fun. I really am a fan of dancing stories. While this follows a well worn path of overcoming struggles, it does it with much charm and good music.

If you watch this movie, do yourself a favor and just skip straight to the big dance scene at the end. It was well-acted and the choreography was fun, but the script was crap. Beyond predictable and I didn't feel anything for any of the characters.

a good dancing movie that involved (of course) teenage love. Channing Tatum as Tyler Gage is a trouble maker who recived 200 hours of community service in an art school. there he's exposed to other dancers and to possibilities he didn't dream of...
