Great action, but really a pretty depressing movie. The storyline wasn't BAD, but very grim compared to the first two movies. There was some satisfying resolution, but the ending still left me feeling sad and unfulfilled, mostly because of what I experienced in the first two, which were a lot more upbeat.
Still worth watching IMO, but not as fun as the first two. It was GOOD, but just not as fun.

Spidey goes SPLAT! After thoroughly enjoying the first two Spider-man movies, I was looking forward to the third. I'm sorry to say that it didn't deliver. The story drags and the warmth of the first two films is lacking, leaving nothing to propel it through the long build-up to the climactic battle scene. The chemistry between the main characters seems to have evaporated in between the second and third installments. There's a coldness and distance to this movie, and in a movie about superheroes there needs to be a strong human element. There are some very silly moments, even for a movie based on comic books. What happened to the writing? You don't have a physicist point out that "I'm not a biologist" and in the next line have him declare that an organism never before seen "has the traits of a symbiont." Later, this "just a physicist" also suddenly has detailed knowledge of meteorites that fell 30 years prior. Huh? Also disappointing was the character of Venom, a one-dimensional caricature who occupies far too little of the film after all the build-up to his appearance. That being said, Topher Grace does an excellent job in his portrayal of Eddie Brock/Venom. The ending of this film attempts to be a multiple tearjerker in such a self-conscious way that it doesn't work at all. We get such a schmaltzy ending this time around that there wasn't a wet eye in the house. It couldn't have been done in a more heavy-handed manner if Mary Jane had walked back and forth across the screen in a sandwich board painted with the words "Cry now!" The most disappointing point in this movie is the re-writing of the Uncle Ben's death. To introduce this new element seems dishonest; it also makes the ending of the film make no sense, as Spider-man lets the villain who killed his uncle escape. Why? He gets away to rob and kill another day. It's a very poor note upon which to end the three-film saga. Rest in peace, Spidey. You had a good run.

I hate to join the bashing roadshow but really, this movie was a huge letdown after how great the first two were. Not sure whre things went awry, but most definitely the story is at the heart of its failing. Trying to fit too much into too little time results in none of the story lines being developed fully. But that aside, the insertion of really non-essential content like Parker becoming egotistical and the dancing scenes were really a distraction from the heart of the movie. They ought to have dropped one of the villains at the very least and dropped some of the moronic content and that would have been a good start. A shame.

The third Matrix was a mess and X-Men 3 could not live up to part one and two. I did not expect much but parts of the film were just AWFUL. Parts of this film reminded me of Eddie Murphys Nutty Professor. Cheesy and flat this film should not be included as part of Spiderman 1 or 2. Sad to see a great superhero become a boring mess.

It is rare that a superhero movie by any name is able to justify its astronomical budget, but for Spider-Man, it simply could not be any other way. Every moment of action in this movie is so beautifully choreographed, it alone is simply the best you have or possibly will ever see in a modern movie. I hope this particular movie series never ends, because in my mind, it only gets better every time.

Despite it's corniness and ludicrous plot contrivances, I was actually with this film up until the final act. It was here that things just completely fell apart for me. It failed to do everything that Spider-Man 2 did right. I loved Spidey 2 for many reasons, primarily because it kept things simple. In the end, this third installment in the series just tries to do too much (too many villains, too many plot threads) and collapses under its own weight. I think the inclusion of Venom was the biggest mistake. They could've kept in the alien costume and Topher Grace's character, but they should've saved Venom for part 4. Although, unless they find a good cast, director, and story for another installment, I think we're all better off if they just leave this as a trilogy.

But in the end the movie was pretty good. Tobey nails it again as Peter Parker and the movie has a lot of humor and shockers. Now that the trilogy is over we all can see the truth about Spiderman. It's a tear-jerker superhero comedy-action saga. HA!

It was just too hard to watch knowing that I held a remote in my hand and with the power to end the suffering whenever I wanted. it was boring AND all over the place...two minutes of sandman, two minutes of the goblin, two minute of venom, two minutes of the sandman again, 15 minutes of tobey mcguire dancing like an idiot, 10 minutes of eric forman...err....eddie brock being a pansie. Apparently Sam Raimi didn't see that last batman & Robin movie. He should've just focused on the sandman and left everyone else out.

"Spider-Man 3" is exactly what you'd expect; no more, no less. Toby looks like he's getting a little long in the tooth for the role. The film's OK, but let's hope it's the last in the series; can't imagine why anyone would need another.
