The Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2010

Wait, didn’t I see this movie already around eight years ago? Nope, that was a different movie by the same title. Also, not half as good as its successor. Disney really knows how to put on a good show, and so does Nic Cage, the star of the film. The friend I went with to see this did not have the same opinion. He was not a happy camper, and was laughing at parts that were not meant to be funny. The story did bounce around a bit here and there, but still pretty easy to stick with it. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really think most people will enjoy it.

This Disney for all ages film is exactly what it proclaims. It won't a first date, it won't a hangout with your buddies, but it would a great Sunday morning experience with your kids or nephews. But more could you expect, it a wizard film with lots of cool CGI effects. It has nothing more to tell, and it doesn't trying. The initially reluctant teenage boy quickly becomes a great wizard to fight the fight for good vs. evil. He succeeds in the mission, he gets the girl and order has been restored. Fun viewing.
