What a glorious feeling,Im happy again! Indeed I am happy after every viewing of this musical.Singin in the Rain is timeless,it knows not how to fade and its tunes stay as catchy as ever.Whether theyre making you laugh,saying good morning,or splashing around in puddles with an umbrella,the songs are what keep the film alive and having the best artists dancing and providing the vocals doesnt hurt either.Whimsical humor with an incisive approach bring an uproar of comedy to the stage as you laugh and sing your way through the most enjoyable 103 minutes every presented in cinema.
Don Lockwood(Kelly) and Kathy Selden(Reynolds)meet purely on accident and Don finds himself fond of her.By this single coincidence a bond is made between the two,a sort of push and yank likeness for each other that as the crowd rooting for a happily ever after.Lockwood is a big time movie star and every star needs a sidekick,that sidekick is found in Cosmo(OConnor).Would it be a crime to say the fun side of this gig is mostly contributed to Cosmo?Giving us such a song as Make Em Laugh as to tally up to something.Then theres Lina Lamont(Hagen),Lina has the most beautiful voice of all the cinematic star with grace to go along with it...also the moon is made of cheese and is our number one provider of swiss.To say Lina is anything but obnoxious is blasphemy and should be punishable by law.She has a way of making you blood boil and has a thing for Lockwood.Fingers crossed shes hit by a bus before the credits roll.
Giving us memories of laughs,tunes,and romance;Singin in the Rain is an unrelenting,enthralling entertainment for the whole family.It lifts your mood from the floor when you feel most in the gutter.Youll be tapping your foot through to the end and when youve finished youll crave more numbers.Hailed as the best musical of all time,this ones got story,acting,and writing to go along.So put on some tap shoes cause just as Gene Kelly once said,you gotta dance.

I am NOT into musicals. Or, for that matter, movies from the 50s. But darn it, this is just an infectious piece of film, and Kelly's performances (especially the iconic "Singin' in the Rain" routine) will stay stuck in your head for hours afterward....

I am NOT into musicals. Or, for that matter, movies from the 50s. But darn it, this is just an infectious piece of film, and Kelly's performances (especially the iconic "Singin' in the Rain" routine) will stay stuck in your head for hours afterward. If I didn't fear the social ostracism of my peers, I'd start collecting Gene Kelly movies. Recommended.

What a wonderful film! it really made me wanna sing out loud. the story of the transition to talking films is great, witty and touching. the characters are unforgettable and the entire experience is thoroughly enjoyable. must see!

"Lamont and Lockwood: they talk!"
This is my favorite musical and my favorite showbiz film. The idea of a film within film is always intriguing, and the whole "talkies" plot is SO hilarious! Innocent and funny. It is definitely a classic and essential to everyone who loves cinema...

This is my favorite musical and my favorite showbiz film. The idea of a film within film is always intriguing, and the whole "talkies" plot is SO hilarious! Innocent and funny. It is definitely a classic and essential to everyone who loves cinema (unless you can't stand musicals...). A happy, positive film that lifts your mood.
