I thought this was a good movie, cute and kind of a romp. A little bit sexy, a little bit funny and a little bit serious. 5 Stars for all the parts coming together to give us a entertaining movie.

The movie shows that kids are all the same, Christian, Jewish, and non-believers. I giggled throught the entire movie. Just because someone is "saved," they do not become immune to life in general. In addition, as a believer and Christian, I thought it fun to be able to lighten up about life. If we can't laugh at ourselves and our general "human-ness," then we have not accepted that we are not perfect. The point of Christianity is to face the everyday trials and tribulations, while maintaining faith in God. This movie exaggerates them, of course. If it did not, then it would not be a comedy. And face it, God had to have a sense of humor. He created us, didnt he? If you are open minded and capable of laughing at yourself without fearing God striking you down...watch this movie.

Hallelujah! Finally a movie worth some praise. Saved! is a dark comedy that takes a satirical look into the lives of skeptical, rebellious, self-righteous, and misguided Christian High School students alike. Yes, the characters are stereotypical. Yes, the message is
blatant. But that is the point. This movie is geared toward the hypocricy of organized religion, and some might consider it offensive. But what good comedy doesn't offend a few? Surprisingly enough, Mandy Moore makes this movie by playing an exaggerated version of an enthusiastic Christian. She captures her character as an overzealous Jesus devotee, who in her obsessive quest to "save" the sinners around her, fails to notice that her extreme interventions are causing her to side with Satan himself. Jenna Malone plays a sweet Mary, who begins to question her faith, turning to the very outcasts she once considered evil. Religious beliefs aside, Saved! offers some hysterical scenes, and thought provoking points. If you appreciate a good jab at society, watching Saved! will be a great way to spend an hour and 33 minutes of your time.
