Rip off!
This is a complete rip off of "Repo! The Genetic Opera!" which came out in 2008. It is literally the same story, but without the great singing.

Great Story, Good Movie, Not Worthy of the Negative reviews
Do you love intelligent sci-fi that doesn't make you over-think and reconcile convoluted plot lines and instead pulls you in with story and human emotion? Then don't let the jaded turn you off of this movie. Instead fire up the DVD player, get some popcorn and get ready for pure entertainment. * Though uniformly trashed by critics, who may not have sat through the whole movie, it should be noted that the same was true of "Blade Runner" when it opened in theatres. If Blade Runner is the white collar worker, Repo Men is it's blue-collar counterpart. Repo Men skews closer to "The Island", "Total Recall" and the "Sixth Day" and less so to it's over-serious brethren "Gattaca", "Code 41" and "Children of Men." Repo Men is just plain fun. * "Remy (Jude Law) and Jake (Forest Whitaker) are best friends and The Union's most dangerous repossession men, reclaiming top-dollar organs when recipients fall behind on their payments. But after an on-the-job accident forces Remy to be outfitted with a top-of-the-line heart replacement, he finds himself in debt and on the run." * Jude Law (Remy) clicks as the father who must reconcile his "work hard, play hard" youth with his wife's desire for more face-time and nights at home. Forest Whitaker (Jake) smolders as the perpetual single war-buddy bent on keeping Remy in the Repo Men corps and away from a soul-killing desk job. Alice Braga is convincing as the lounge-singer who opens Remy's eyes to the hypocritical policies of the Union. The policy of selling exorbitantly priced artificial organs to those who may not be able to afford them. This opens up the question of when we can prolong human life through artificial organs ¿ who decides who lives and who dies. Will it be a double standard that serves the rich and penalizes the poor? Last, Liev Schreiber (Frank) delivers a humorous turn as the organ salesman who has the scruples and selling chops of a used-car salesman.

(nor is Repo! The Genetic Opera which many seem to be citing here as well - that appears to be ANOTHER film that hijacked the Repo title (and crossed it with Rocky Horror) in an attempt to make a surefire 'cult' hit.)

2 1/2 stars, really, for what it ~could~ have been. Starts out with potential - interesting and thought provoking ideas, a lot of places it could have gone. Unfortunately, they took the gore-fest path, throwing out a wealth of what could have been some very interesting ideas to explore. Things that were hinted at just enough to keep me watching, hoping to see them follow through... As it is, I'd say it falls more squarely in the horror genre than sci-fi. If you like movies with underdeveloped plots and an overabundance of blood and gore, this is a film for you.

2/10Bad
In this film, the repo men of the title repossess bionic body parts from those who can¿t keep up the payments on them, rendering the deadbeats quite dead. The concept isn¿t a bad one for sci-fi, but the execution in this film is dreadful. The movie is stupid, preposterous, obvious and dull. Even in the future real people won¿t behave as the characters in this dud do. The first 10 minutes are promising, then there¿s a very steep and continuous decline until the end. But I should say the near end; the actual last few minutes is a coda that renders the final third of the film even more meaningless and stupid. Do yourself a big favor and skip this turkey. The more I think about it, the more I hate it.

Great Movie!
I loved this movie, but warning very gory & in someway truthful even though it is suppose to be the future. I see us in real life getting sicker & sicker, like everyone at least knows one person or several people in there family or in there friend circle that either has cancer or other diseases & our scientist are all ready making body organs now & in the pursuit of other ways to create body parts out of all kinds of tissue. They have even grown body parts like a human ear on the back of a mouse, so this to me is not so far fetched, but I hope they never do the repo thing because this is not like missing a payment on your car because all they do with that is take your automobile & then you can just go & find another way to get a car like buy a used one with cash, but imagine if your paying payments on a major organ & you get behind & they come to cut the organ out of you, sick & I hope that little part does not come true, but in the state that this world is in, we just may see that kind of thing in our time alive on this planet. You Never Know!
