On Halloween Eve, 13-year-old Cassie finds a magical book called "The Evil Thing" in a mysterious store. When her little brother Max insists on hearing the story, Cassie ignores the warning that cautions readers to not read the book aloud. The resulting spooky occurrences lead them to the woods behind their house and an enigmatic stranger. The young cast includes Emily Osment (HANNAH MONTANA), Cody Linley (CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN), and Brittany Curran (AKEELAH AND THE BEE). SAW's Tobin Bell costars in this kid-friendly chiller from the mind of R.L. Stine.
