Summary of Public Enemy Number One - Part 1
Like the anti-hero of a French New Wave film, real-life Gallic gangster Jacques Mesrine spent much of his life running from the law. In the first section of this two-part film directed by Jean-Francois Richet (ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13), Vincent Cassel (EASTERN PROMISES) stars as the titular criminal. Cécile de France (A SECRET) costars as a prostitute who joins him on the lam, while Gérard Depardieu plays a crime boss.
