For as bad of reviews as this movie got it really was decent. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed most of the performances in this film. The actors who play the love interest for Jessica Biel and the transvestite are really bad actors though and unfortunately bring the movie down considerably when they appear onscreen. Biel, Liotta, Whitaker and Kudrow however would make this film a three star film for me if it wasn't for the ending. It is one of the most ridiculous endings for a movie. I think the writer tried to imitate the frogs falling from the sky ending in Magnolia but failed miserably. The ending of the movie puts it back to two stars.

This movie is so bad it's kind of amazing. You've got the usual oh-so-indie "everyone is connected" plot. You've got Kris Kristofferson being his usual self. You've got Ray Liotta frowning around the strip club rather than confronting the person who is super-secretly connected to him (it's so un-obvious, I wouldn't want to spoil it for you). You've got Lisa Kudrow! You've got freaky Patrick Swayze in a wig and eyeliner (no he's not reprising his "To Wong Foo" role - in this movie his character's name is Velvet Larry). And speaking of characters' names, one of the main characters is named, I kid you not, QWERTY DOOLITTLE. And this movie is NOT supposed to be a comedy! But the most hilarious thing of all is Jessica Biel's performance. I don't know if her agent talked her into this or if she chose this role herself, but the idea that this movie would be anything other than Direct-to-DVD is ridiculous. I think everyone involved with this movie, including writer/producer/director Timothy Linh Bui (who, surprisingly, isn't a first-timer), needs to seriously reconsider some of the choices they've made in life.
