Point Break, 1991

Hard to believe so many people like this. The acting, dialogue and plot aren't even film-school worthy. Some of the action photography (surfing/skydiving) is impressive, but those scenes are wrapped in a garbage story that's hard to bear while we wait until the next good action scene. The regular fighting/chase scenes aren't much to talk about. There's something almost interesting deep in there about learning the mystical side of surfing, but it's so ineptly handled that it's not worth trying to give the film the benefit of that doubt.

as one of Keanu Reeves's best movies. but it's still good for a pure time passing. the plot and the action are reasonable and Patrick Swayze looks good in a bathing suit, so I guess it's not a complete waste of time.
