This is one of those films that if you're bored, it will kill time. Nothing intelligent or new here. Just kind of run of the mill. The hamburger jokes are about the only thing that got a chuckle out of me.

Man, I was embarassed watching this movie. It's so so not funny it's beyond unfunny. I like Steve Martin (The Jerk, Bowfinger, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), but watching him try to play an overly-bumbling investigator - with an absolutlely horrible accent is just painful. The story seems almost secondary to trying to show how bumbling he is whereas the original Panthers were classic bumbling-story equal, at least there was a mystery worthy of watching. Simply watch this for yourself, it's everything that's wrong with hollywood today and the deluge of remakes - and they're making another one, oiiii.

I grew up watching the cartoon, and I didn't even know there were a series of movies with Peter Sellers until very recently, but, as soon as this movie came out, I had to see it! And, as opposed to everyone else, I was not disappointed. Steve Martin plays the completely silly Inspector Clouseau to a tee (even if the accent is a little over-the-top!) and he makes the other characters around him dazzle! Every part of this movie screams hilarity! Can't wait for the sequel. 4.5 stars, most definitely!

I am a Steve Martin Fan, but there is no excuse for this, horribly unfunny production. Bafflingly flat, uninspired and specifically unfunny.
