Summary of Pee-Wee's Playhouse: Christmas Special
In this surreal pastiche of television-age nostalgia, sprung from the perpetually prepubescent mind of Paul Reubens, Pee-Wee and his friends celebrate Christmas in all kinds of unique, fun, and creative ways in a holiday special unlike any other. The wacky and outrageous Pee-Wee (Paul Reubens) has made a list for Santa; unfortunately it's so long that if he gets everything he wants, there won't be anything left over for the other children on Santa's route! Pee-Wee learns the true meaning of the Christmas spirit when he learns to share, and along the way he is visited by a bevy of celebrity stars, including Whoopi Goldberg, Frankie Avalon, Joan Rivers, Charo, Grace Jones, Annette Funicello, Magic Johnson, K.D. Lang, Zsa Zsa Gabore, and Little Richard. This Christmas classic is fun for the whole family, with all the cleverness and charm of the TV series, and was nominated for three Emmy Awards when it came out in 1988.
