Summary of Patang

Patang is the story of Indu who is married to her professor, Nikhil. Indu marries him despite the fact that he is a lot older than her. Initially, the relationship starts with being a student-teacher one but then it deteriorates into a dominating, husband-dutiful wife relationship and ultimately that of a bored husband-jealous wife relationship. Indu desperately tries to save her marriage because she knows that her family, who had always opposed the union, will question her choice of husband! She is worried that she chose the wrong man. But then she is forced to tell about her failed marriage to her family when he walks out on her. Indu is totally shattered. She comes to her brother's house. Aarti, Indu's sister-in-law and a maverick uncle give her emotional support. Indu also re-unites with her childhood friends Badal and Sameer who are in love with her. The story evolves as Indu goes in search of her final destination which might be Baadal or Sameer or...
