Panique au village, 2009

It has whacky off beat humour, great aestetics and a story line that even kept the kids happy while I laughed my head off.

The depth of imagination on display in "A TOWN CALLED PANIC" earns the film its 4th star. There's an anarchic spirit at loose in the plot, which involves Indian, Cowboy and Horse dealing with a huge mistake: They ordered 50 bricks to make a BBQ but received about 50 million. It would be impossible to describe, or even list, the events unfolding from this error, as it involves their town of speaking animals and wonderful happenings. The film really is like watching a very imaginative child play with his little toy characters, putting them in all sorts of fantastic, illogical situations plucked from his fancy. There's nothing here that a five-year-old couldn't get, but while adults will appreciate the art and humor, they'll also be glad the film's only 75 minutes.
