I'm a big David Fincher fan, however he does miss the mark sometimes (like Alien 3) and this movie really missed it. The movie lacks the ability for you to connect with anyone on screen, so you find yourself not caring so much about what's happening. Furthermore, the movie never gains any momentum, nor does it reach a climax. It simply plods along for too long and you find yourself squirming wishing something new would happen. The story had potential, I think it was simply spun into a formula. This lacks the intensity that The Game had, and the energy that Fight Club had.

Ugh. More Hollywood trash. The only thing scary about this movie is that people got paid to write it, to make it and to act in it. Full of holes and ridiculous scenarios (why or how a divorcee and her diabetic daughter attained or need a townhouse the size of a small european hotel is beyond me). I won't even begin to discuss the dozen other implausiblities. The acting is beyond painful...sepcifically Jared Leto, (who I thought was GREAT in REQUIUM) overacts to the point that I feel like I was watching a cartoon character from Scooby Doo. And precocious Kristin Stewart, (who plays the daughter), awkardly attempts to be more butch than Jodie. Disappointed - Another flick with a glossy cover but nothing inside...(except hideous script writing and directing).

could have been better
A nice movie - could have been better. Jodie Foster plays a single parent who will try anything to save her child... It's suspenseful and rough but there are a lot of things that just do not make sense in the script.
