Orlando, 1992

ORLANDO is commanded by the Queen to stay young forever, "Do not grow old, Do not wither", Orlando obliges. Thus Virginia Woolf takes us on a 400 year journey. Tilda Swinton plays Orlando. For 200 years Orlando will be a man, and the next 200 years Orlando is a woman. As the Marcia Gay Harden character in Gaudi Afternoon says "How Delicious" In this movie Orlando will look directly into the camera and give us, (the audience) that look, that look that says I hope you get the joke. It is wonderful, and she does it several times throughout the movie. Watch for Charlotte Valandrey, she plays the Princess Sasha, Sasha steals Orlando's heart, Orlando falls madly in love with this enchanting Sasha. The Music, the Costumes and Tilda Swinton's performance as the ageless Orlando earns this movie a very serious 5*****Stars. Tilda Swinton ("The Statement", and "Young Adam", and "The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe".)
