10/10Must See
When this movie starts, and even halfway through, it may feel drudging, and you may not think you can complete it. The problem being that it is very tough to watch - it is very depressing, and so many of the characters are horribly mean. It is much like Monster, in a lot of ways. However, when you reach the final courtroom scenes, you will be broken up, like I was, and you'll have fallen in love with it. I feel so much for those who inspired this story, and knowing that sexual harassment still takes place today makes this more poignant now than ever.

The movie is really well made. Everyone has given natural performances.A must watch for every person. Very inspiring and at the same time emotional. Gives a good feeling at the end and is positive.
Charlize Theron gives an Oscar worthy performance.

'North Country' could be a important and groudbreaking film--if we hadn't already seen it. This film was made about 10 times in the late 70s and early 80s. Now, equal rights, wages and everything for women is still an important issue, but if we're going to make films about it, we (as a culture) need to do it in ways that actually reflects the culture (as well as our current state of cinema). This was a completely rote excercise, and becaus eof that fact, will have zero impact on our culture. And if you are going to make a film like this, you had better hope you can at least make a dent in our culture or the film has failed entirely. As a piece of entertainment, it is so-so.
