It's hard to imagine a worse follow up to Chicago for Marshall. for a musical, so much of the music is just bad... WHY Marshall decided to abandon so much of the original score and add crap like "Cinema Italiano" (possibly the worst song I've ever heard in a film---it sounded like it was unfinished with HORRIBLE lyrics that had NO place in the film) is beyond me. Some of the choreography is equally as half baked. And I'm a fan of Fellini's 8 1/2-- I see how this COULD have been quite something, but SOMEONE should have said "no" along the way to some of the wrongheaded decisions... and I agree with others here: Fergie is the best thing in the film, as is that number.
