Night at the Museum (2006) is a fun old-fashioned movie, in that it's not cynical about family, not disrespectful of adults or parents or education or tradition and it shows that crime doesn't pay, but hard work does.
Very few objectionable words, no sexual jokes, no smoking, no drinking, very mild violence. It has good messages and themes, interesting characters, lots of humor, and a happy ending. Children who aren't jaded or cynical or over-stimulated by violent video games will enjoy it.

This is a pretty enjoyable family film, and there are moments of extraordinary preciousness...but precious little real humor or excitement. The concepts--as they come to life--are fun to watch and even a little titillating to the senses; however, their execution is a bit soulless, seemingly done for the sake of doing. I mean, the movie is still pretty much worth watching once, for pretty much any age range, because it does provide a nice 'escape' that is at least pulled off with mega-budget pastiche; but a classic (with strong characters, unpredicatble turns-of-events and emotional punch) it is not.
