Good premise, not-so-good acting
Although the humor is carefully constructed from situations, I felt that Thurman's character was unsure of what emotion to express. Perhaps that was intended, but it falls flat.

I'm starting to think that renting movies simply because you like the actors in them is not a good idea. The cast is what led me to renting this movie, but after an hour into this, I found it impossible to keep watching. It is simply too ridiculous...

I'm starting to think that renting movies simply because you like the actors in them is not a good idea. The cast is what led me to renting this movie, but after an hour into this, I found it impossible to keep watching. It is simply too ridiculous to be funny. It's always a bad thing when movies can't settle on being serious or comedic. Even worse is when they're silly and you don't know if they're actually trying to be that way. This was just too weird for me. The out of place CGI shark, the song with the curse words edited out that is prominently played during a climactic scene, the fact that these actors actually agreed to do this movie... You're better off watching anything else, I promise you.

This has a lot of very funny moments. Ultimately, these very funny moments even out the film against the completely ridiculous moments.

It wasn't "bad" just not all that good either. The premise was interesting, but ultimately it was very predictable cookie cutter comedy..

i didn't like this movie
This was suppose to be a parody about superheroes. it really wasn't. and it could have been so much better. it wasn't romantic or funny at all. the acting was mediocre at best, even though i like the two main actors. in a word: disappointing.
