My Life in Ruins, 2009

Surprisingly amusing. I completely expected to be disappointed by this title, but despite the obvious overused standard storyline, cheap humor, and stereotypical caricaturistic characters, this movie is witty, amusing, and entertaining. Don't expect anything original; don't expect to be blown away, and don't expect to laugh so hard your stomach hurts. DO EXPECT a pleasurable, fun, amusing hour-and-a-half, and to go to bed with a slight smile on your face after watching this movie. It's not as good as My Big Fat Greek Wedding, despite sharing some roots, but it's still fun. Thumbs up.
