Dr. Herman Tarnower (Ben Kingsley) was a dieting demigod in the 1980s, with millions of people dedicated to his "Scarsdale Diet." Despite his success in the dieting world Tarnower's downfall was his insatiable appetite for women, and when he met the heavily medicated Jean Harris (Annette Bening) he started a relationship that was to prove deadly. Mrs. Harris tells Tarnower's cautionary tale in a feature-length movie produced by HBO.
