Mr. and Mrs. Smith can be described as stylized, exciting, and suspenseful. The plot revolves around an assassination attempt, secret identities, and relationships vs. career. Its comic aspect comes from verbal byplay. Mr. and Mrs. Smith's main genres are action and comedy. In terms of style, it has a Hollywood tone, involves twists and turns, and stars a strong female character. In approach, it is realistic. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is fast paced. It is set, at least in part, in the suburbs. It is located in the USA. Mr. and Mrs. Smith takes place in contemporary times. The movie has received attention for being a blockbuster and an award winner. It is well suited for a date night, teens, and a boys' night. Note that Mr. and Mrs. Smith involves violent content.

Summary of Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Named after a 1941 Alfred Hitchcock film, MR. AND MRS. SMITH is really its own ball of flaming wax, with enough sizzling chemistry between stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to blow up a small building. He shows he is equally adept in comedy and action, and she manages to set new screen standards of bad-ass sexiness. It's impossible to dislike this pair, or a movie that makes being married seem like such insane fun. Pitt and Jolie play extremely skilled professional assassins who have managed to stay married for five years without ever realizing each other's profession because they work for rival agencies and the work is top secret. When their paths eventually cross on a high-level hit, one of the most lethal battles of the sexes in the history of cinema is officially on. Thanks to a genuinely witty script, the issue isn't who will win, but whether the couple will realize they are meant for each other before it's too late. Director Doug Liman was obviously the right choice for the material, having proved his ability to fuse engaging romance with knuckle-biting action in 2002's THE BOURNE IDENTITY. The comedy is sophisticated and witty, the action is visceral and intense, and there is plenty of satisfying eye candy. Another plus is Vince Vaughn as a fast-talking fellow hit man who lives with his mother. The cinematography is by Bozan Bajelli (the genius behind Abel Ferrara's best mid-1980s work) who imbues each environment, whether it's the Smith's house, or the urban streets--with its own evocative color scheme and feel.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith takes director Doug Liman?s ability to add a sense of apprehension and urgency to even the quietest of scenes, Brad Pitt?s Ocean?s 11 style off-beat comedic delivery, and Angelina Jolie?s exquisite beauty and enthusiasm and combines them into a wonderfully entertaining action flick. Plot-wise, Mr. & Mrs. Smith is as ridiculous as they come. Put too much thought into this film and the holes and inconsistencies will bring you tears. And I mean that in a bad way. Yes, the thought of two assassins married and living together without realizing the other?s identity is absurd. Yes, Jolie?s team of hot chicks looked like something out of Charlie?s Angels, and it was dumb. Yes, the entire movie was based in a world far removed from reality. But the movie is fun! And it?s that enjoyment that ultimately matters. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were probably the perfect choices for the main characters. Brad Pitt is just sensational is everything he does. His ability for comedy is becoming quite apparent, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith is more evidence. His quirky style and delivery make all of his characters memorable, even with names like John Smith. On the down side, it also makes all of his lighter characters very similar. Jolie is, first and foremost, stunningly beautiful. When a woman is this gorgeous in such an exotic and erotic fashion, her looks often outshine the rest of the movie. In Mr. & Mrs. Smith they blended perfectly. I realize that the chances of a deadly assassin being so beautiful are slim, but it was the dark sense of enjoyment Jolie added that made her the perfect casting choice. Looking at these two, guns in hand, you can suspend your disbelief for a brief moment and lose yourself in a fantasy world full of deadly, attractive assassins, and have splendid time doing it.

It seems like most critics just can��t sit back and enjoy movies unless they are, a) artsy, b) depressing, or c) 3 hours long. This is of course a blatant generalization on my part but I do think that it��s true that most critics can��t seem to just... Read and rate it
