Mission: Impossible III, 2006

The problem with these movies now is they're such a blatant vehicle for Cruise that it's hard to overlook it since it's pushed down your throat in every scene. Every character is a throwaway where you know next to nothing about them and you never do, they all appear as small cameos basically and you never ever feel like it's a team. The first MI movie at least made it seem like they were, but now it's simply here to show how cool Cruise is - when in fact his acting suffers from overconfidence. You never really buy into his character nor him.. it's all just too neat. The plot is superficial and you never get the lowdown on it either, and throw in the plot twists that you know are coming, and you get one bland movie that really sets no new boundaries. I found Seymour Hoffman to be the only really entertaining character, and he's barely in it. Had we seen more of him and less of Cruise, the movie may have been better but as it stands, it's a Sunday afternoon snooze flick.
