Millennium Mambo, 2001

we found ourselves constantly checking to see how far to go before it was over. painfully, agonizingly slow with no plot development to speak of. depressing, which in itself is OK for a movie, but here we felt trapped in the rut of the main character for the duration...it was like smoking a cigarette for 2 hours which is basically what the she does throughout the entire film. Aaaagh--no resolution; not that there was any buildup or that it was leading in any direction to begin with, but one hopes after investing all that time to find even the tiniest shred of meaning, but she just continues on her meandering, wayward, hapless way and we can only be grateful when we see the credits finally pop in.
