I can't believe this movie is getting bad reviews! This is a stunning picture; it creates such a tenuous, dark mood and delivers searing, searching action sequences, as well as some subtle but powerful dramatic moments. I was held utterly captive by this film and can find almost no fault with it. farrell and Foxx are beautiful and bad@ss in the blue-neon glow of Florida nights, and Mann has crafted a new sort of thing: the modern action-noir, full of grit and nail-biting suspense.

Rite. I had no intention of seeing this movie until I read the NY Times review; the reviewer stated something essentially like "this is the experimental art film for action lovers and vice a versa..." This made me think about seeing it.. Then the reviewer commented on how all the actors in this picture are incredible actors, basking in the glow of the beautiful cinematography... except for Colin Farrell, who apparently "...just cant act." I decided that this could be another "matrix effect" movie for me (i.e., a movie that I go into w/ low expectations and are then pleasantly surprised). The result was that Colin Farrell turned in one of the best performances that I have ever seen... understand: he was channeling Don Johnson. Watch the movie again, pay attention. Channeling. If you look at it this way, you will really enjoy the movie. (besides-- there are a lot of other good things going on... its beautiful... the lead from 28 days later... Gong Li... something called "go fast boats".... etc. Ra

sorry, can’t say I recommend it
All I wanted was some good action, and all I got was a big disappointment. Also, the acting was mediocre, I got bored in parts, and at the end I still wasn't sure if it was worth it.
