Every now and the critics tear down a film that deserves much praise. Such is the case with Man on Fire.
The usually spotty Tony Scott delivers a masterful revenge tale with a soul. Powered by a stellar performance by Denzel Washington and stroung spiritual undertones, Man on Fire is a mournful and powerful revenge film.
With that other soulless, and inferior, revenge film getting much praise critics failed to see the value of this strong and effective genre film.
Forget the critics and check out Man on Fire. You won't be disappointed.

This movie captured me as I related its context to our current times of terrorism. Just as these kidnappers finally went too far, capturing the girl that Denzel was protecting, the Islamic terrorists went too far on 9-11. In this movie, Denzel takes matters into his own hands by killing all the thugs in a Mexican kidnapper network one at a time, until he gets to the top. They left you hanging at the end, as Denzel gives his life up in return for the little girl. My final thought was he detonated another C4 bomb and took out the last of the kidnappers (as well as himself) as they all drove away. Again, I think of how we are killing the terrorists, thug by thug, cell by cell, until this cancer is wiped off the face of Earth! Unfortunately in the process we are losing heroic men and women in our Armed Forces who have answered the call of freedom.

The movie is a careful adaptation of A.J.Quiell's book of the same name.Denzel Washington gives a brilliant performance as Creasy.Excellent action shots.The person who has acted so maturely however is Dakota Fanning and gives a brilliant performance
