Profile of Made in Romania

Made in Romania can be described as humorous, clever, and witty. The plot revolves around filmmaking, a situation where nothing goes right, and artists and showbiz. The main genre is comedy. In terms of style, Made in Romania is a mockumentary, is a film in a film, and is talky. In approach, it is not serious and realistic. It is set, at least in part, on a movie set. Made in Romania is located in Romania. It takes place in contemporary times.

Summary of Made in Romania

Jennifer Tilly, Elizabeth Hurley and Jason Flemyng star as themselves in this wacky look at the underbelly of filmmaking. As an actress, Tilly's dream project is the Victorian-set drama, The Tides of Reason. She's found a producer, Sebastian, who's landed a sketchy financing deal with a catch--the film must be shot in Romania. After the director of choice is fired, a bi-polar ex-con is hired--and the chaos continues. Their Victorian set screams Medieval. Several arrests lead to buying off the authorities. Top-secret butt double auditions have Romania's finest crashing the set. Flocks of pesky pigeons and packs of wild dogs invade the sound stage. When it rains, it pours. As the shoot spirals out of control, you'll be in hysterics at this madcap movie production gone wrong.
