Incredibly stupid... but what did you expect? Great spoof of action movies from the 80s and 90s. I wasn't really expecting much more than a goofy satire, considering the last SNL flick I really loved was Wayne's World. I was willing to give this one a try.
Both Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe were real treats in this movie. Hilarious in each of their roles.
Check this one out if you love stupid comedy, raunchy humor, and even dumber gags. Go in with an open mind.... just enjoy it. It's not trying to win an Oscar, people!

I have the unfortunate affliction that i need to watch movies in their entirety once i start one. With respect to this film, i might consider myself an extreme masochist. I wonder whether i'd have been better off gouging my own eyes out and puncturing my eardrums rather than allowing this piece of trash to do it to me.
This is the worst movie i've ever seen and i've seen a lot of very, very bad movies!
I get the whole parody of 80s action. But this film is simply a chain of idiotic attempts at humor, apparently drawing from all the failed bits of all the worst comic routines of all time. There's nothing original, interesting, funny, nor endearing about this film.
A MacGyver/80s-action-hero wannabe failure is a funny 3-5 minute sketch, not a film!

What a random not bad movie. I remember watching one of the 3 SNLs I caught last year and there was a MacGruber skit. It was pretty funny compared to how unfunny SNL is. So then the movie looks like they dragged half a joke out to kill yourself levels.
It wasn't bad. It had the opposite problem of most comedies, because the first 20 minutes are boring as hell, but it keeps getting better. There's random stuff to laugh at, and if the A-team montage doesn't make you chuckle, you might as well turn it off.
Rent it, because everything in the theaters sucks and this is cheaper.

Ignore the critics.
Sure, the critic won't like. The film is based on silly humor, the silliest you can get. But I wasn't looking for much more. It belongs to the genre defined by "Zombieland" – Just plain fun, just plain funny!
