Fritz Langs first talkie uses an unforgettable sound motif. M is outstanding all around, with tense and satisfying character drama. A true landmark film, its hard to believe this was made in 1931.
Chilling story. Fantastic cinematography. Masterful editing. Wonderful acting. I always wondered why this one usually makes it near the top of a lot of best-ever lists. Now I know.
