9/10Amazing
The most critical issue of our society.
The realization of this film is a bit too 'mainstream' for me - like in using clichés to make the characters more sympatethic and 'sellable'.
Still, it is a very to-the-point inventory of all the twisted, perverted, dysfunction-causing damage that is caused by the Judeo-Christian dogma.
I commend that it stands for the all-importance of always seeking the truth - of which the only way is by the scientific method.
Making you hate yourself for your benign and natural characteristics - like your sexuality - is what the Ancient Monotheists do best. Degrading and enslaving women is even more their specialty. Those are the basis of their influence.
I hope this movie is a vision of a better future, where people can be honest about their true desires and can have mutually consensual fun the way they want it.
Normally I would give this movie a 5, but I gave it a 9 because of the paramount importance of the matters presented. This is one of the most important issues of humankind today.

Despite the interesting man and subject matter, this movie failed to really move me at all. It starts off well with a creative way of getting into Kinsey's background through a "collection" of Kinsey himself while training his interviewers. But the rest of the movie seems to perfunctorily hit moments on a timeline without doing the work of connecting the dots. One Redeeming Feature: John Lithgow does another turn as a preachy "prig" of a father, giving me a Footloose flashback.

Interesting movie about the era that gave rise to the man & his ideas.
BUT, the DVD did not have any deleted scenes or an alternate ending...and since I'd already just seen it on cable, it was a disappointment.

What could have been a rote biographical sketch or a perverse exploration or morals turns out to be a tender, balanced examination of a human being. Neeson is of course magical in the title role and Laura Linney takes a stellar turn as Mrs. Kinsey. Bill Condon once again proves that as a director, he deserves to be a household name. Highly recommended.
