I absolutely adored every second of this movie. It was the perfect mix of action, extreme violence, storyline, heart, and fun. One of the best movies I've seen this year, and has now found a spot in my favorite movies ever. It's nice to see Nic Cage not playing the same character he's been since Leaving Las Vegas. Chloe Moretz is amazing. I don't know whether to hug her or be terrified of her! Can't wait to see what kinds of roles she takes as she gets older. Aaron Johnson is adorable, and was perfect for this role.
Suggestions: take this movie for what it's worth.... a comic book turned into a movie. Yes, there is extreme violence. Yes, there is profanity......especially by a child who can't be any older than 13. Yes, no one gets in trouble for killing people. It's a fantasy movie.

Better than expected... more like, "totally awesome cult classic"!
Missed seeing it at the cinema (unfortunately)and saw the DVD even then was not attracted by the cover or the poster, but in the absence of many decent films this year took the plunge and was really totally amazed at how GOOd this film is. The characters are really well played by the cast and the emotional drama is as engaging as the Kick-ass violence. There are three stand out action scenes. The whole film is infused with a black humour, so intelligently directed and deftly executed, it's hard to fault. It will TOTALLY offend the puritanical nutters which is another plus point in my book :)

Like a comic, all the characters are paper thin, and the plot is about as sensible as any Marvel rag with angst-ridden teen heros. And there¿s plenty of violence, way more than called for even if it¿s comic-book violence. Skip it.

2hr of ass-kicking
Kick-ass doesn't even attempt to be nice for a second, it's violent and won't apologize for it. It manages to be insane, pointless, and fun all at the same time. By the end, you somehow appreciate Kick-ass for redefining the meaning of 'acceptable'.

Kicks Ass!
This was a very original and amusing movie, I really liked it. The audience even applauded several times during the movie. As long as you don't take it seriously, fun is guaranteed, since it's like they took Matilda from Leon, put her on speed, and told her to go kick-ass Uma Thurman style. Nicolas Cage is great playing her quirky father (these are the kind of roles he's so good at) and the nerd from Superbad and the guy that plays his father (is it Stanley Tucci twin brother?) were great too.

Superbad meets Kill Bill
I enjoyed Kick-Ass a lot. Usually the movie posters lie and reveal nothing about the movie. This time the poster described it quite good: it’s Superbad meets Kill Bill. If you liked these two movies you’ll probably like Kick-Ass to. People who won’t like this movie will argue that it’s a bit childish and way too violent, which is true. Nevertheless, it’s still a very enjoyable 117 minutes.
