Profile of Kick-Ass

The mood of Kick-Ass is exciting, offbeat, and stylized. The plot centers around superheroes, an uninhibited rivalry, and teenage life. It is an action and comedy movie. Stylistically, Kick-Ass is postmodernist. In approach, it is realistic. The setting is New York. Kick-Ass happens in contemporary times. It is adapted from a comic. Summary of Kick-Ass

Mark Millar's violent comic tale of wannabe superheroes is adapted by writer/director Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) with this Marv Films production. Aaron Johnson stars as a teen who steps out of his house one day with a mask and a painted baseball bat and starts to fight crime even though he has no superpowers. Lyndsy Fonseca co-stars as the character's object of desire, with Nicolas Cage also appearing as an ex-cop whose hatred of a drug lord forces him to train his daughter to be a lethal vigilante.

I absolutely adored every second of this movie. It was the perfect mix of action, extreme violence, storyline, heart, and fun. One of the best movies I've seen this year, and has now found a spot in my favorite movies ever. It's nice to see Nic Cage... Read and rate it

Better than expected... more like, "totally awesome cult classic"!
