Summary of Jûsan-nin no shikaku

In this remake of a 1963 film based on historical events, Shinzaemon Shimada (Koji Yakusho) leads a team of assassins in 19th-century Japan to eliminate the ruthless Lord Naritsugu Matsudaira (Goro Inagaki), who is wreaking havoc against his own people. Hired secretly by a government official hoping to end Matsudaira's reign of terror, Shimada recruits the best samurai in Japan and then sets a trap for the lord's large contingent of faithful bodyguards.

Slow at the beginning, but eventually great

It starts a bit slow, but the last hour of the movie is just one of the most amazing battle scenes I've ever seen on cinema. If you like samurai movies, or just action movies you'll definitely enjoy this one. Read and rate it

One of the best samurai movies to come out in years

It's an amazing movie about 13 samurai warriors who decide to go on a suicide mission in order to kill an evil, cruel and sadistic lord. They decide it's an important enough cause to give their life for it, since that lord will soon rise to power,... Read and rate it
