The first 15 - 20 minutes of this movie are brilliant. The main character is likable, his powers are cool, and the story has the potential to be great. Sadly after those first 20 minutes I became very disappointed with the film. Instead of being about a bank robber who can go anywhere in the world the film takes a hard left and starts to deal with religion. The entire plot is weak and uninteresting. The only other good thing about the movie after the opening is Jamie Bell's character. His character seemed interesting and could have had his own movie. Sam Jackson does the best with what he's given even though it is not much. Hayden still acts an inanimate object that's trying to convey emotions. If there should ever be a reboot of this film sometime later, I hope the entire paladin story is left out.

The script has zero imagination, the characters were terribly one dimensional and very poorly acted. I've got a feeling someone got their 9 year old son to write the action sequences, which make no sense whatsoever. In fact, that would explain a lot of things about this movie.
I think the effects guys were the only ones who gave a damn about their role in this movie, but effects alone doesn't come close to making this watchable. It's not even funny-bad, it's just bad.

Don't let the fact that Hayden Christensen stars turn you off. Unlike the last two Star Wars prequels, his performance was good. Hmmm, NOW who are we going to blame that mess on - George Lucas and his stinky, stilted dialog or Hayden C.? (I know, bite your tongue.)

A popcorn movie. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy. Not too deep, and plenty of action to keep you entertained. Despite the reviews it got from critics, this is a movie worth seeing.

As everyone else said, the special effects are good - but it doesn't make the movie good. The jumping reminded me of Butterfly Effect, however at least that movie had somewhat of a shred of a story, whereas this movie lacks anything coherent....

As everyone else said, the special effects are good - but it doesn't make the movie good. The jumping reminded me of Butterfly Effect, however at least that movie had somewhat of a shred of a story, whereas this movie lacks anything coherent. Nothing is explained nor are the motives really for the paladins. Worst of all, however, is Christensen's acting. He's so luke warm in everything he does that I really never really got into it. Bilson and Jackson look equally as bored. The only exception is Jamie Bell, the other jumper, that seemed to actually invest some charisma and energy into his role and the movie.

Clocking in at under an hour and half The Jumper has been done many times before and has cliches from beginning to end. With that said I have to admit the film was a fun one to see. The storyline explained nothing but the film was fast paced and the CGI was well done. I thought this might be ok but I enjoyed it more than expected. I recommend this with reservations. Don't rush out to see it but have it on your queue as a backup when nothing else looks good and you want to see a a sci-fi film with not much thinking involved. Once again, this is one of those cleansing the palate type movies that gets you ready for something better.

Some people like to hold grudges against actors like Hayden Christensen just because they want to fit in, but I see nothing wrong with his acting in THIS movie. Jumper is a lot of fun to watch with some amazing special effects that are truly out of this world. I want and hope for this to become a franchise, because it easily could. Jumpers versus Walkers (Called the Paladins in this movie - the bad guys) seems like a never ending war, and a good reason to make a lot of these movies. I miss fun movies - why punish yourself watching sad and dramatic ones when you can get happy and pumped watching Jumper?
