Terrible!
I was expecting no plot. But when the CGI was so bad, it made this film one of the worst I've ever seen.

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. I was worried it would be a drudgery, but the first time it slowed enough that I looked at the time counter we only had 15 minutes left. This is a good lighthearted adventure flick. It was a change for the teen character to not be a bitter punk. There was a real sense of camaraderie between the characters. They don't fight and bicker about their circumstances. They work together. I would definitely say it's a positive adventure movie for family night.

It's neither great nor abysmal, it just exists. At first I was irritated by the fact that they were trying to set this up as something that could really happen.. but as soon as everything became laughable (pretenses, situations, special effects, dialogue) I relented and just tried to enjoy the ride. For the most part, it's an okay film for kids - but really it's pretty weak as far as an adventure goes or story for that matter. If you go into this expecting nothing fantastic you'll be ok.

I can use one word to describe this movie. MEH... I enjoy Brendan Fraser for a variety of reasons, but this time around he offered nothing but snooze for me. While I can see where it might have been visually fun (if seen on a large screen in 3D) as the 3D version isn't offered for rent, the effects are totally lost in this lackluster attempt at retelling a classic tale.

The 3D is a lot better than the movie. Don't get your hopes up for anything that makes sense. Fraser is the only thing entertaining about it.

Brendan Fraser is back again in an adventurer and explorer character. And again he's great. In the movie he goes after his brother Max who disappeared while he was investigating a specific place mentioned in Jules Verne's book. It turns out that maybe the stories aren't so fictions… He goes with his nephew who came to a vacation in his place and with a beautiful guide that lost her father who went with Max. The simple journey becomes a self discovering journey. A good film- even though I haven't saw it in 3D.
