Jimmy & Judy, 2006

Jimmy and Judy is a movie about two young lovers that are caught up in their surreal lives and the real world. Jimmy, played by Edward Furlong, is a disturbed teenager who is prone to violent outbursts and films everything. He falls for Judy, played by Rachael Bella, the outcast teen who is constantly tortured by fellow classmates. When Jimmy "takes care" of Judy's tormentors she falls for him and they begin their odd love affair. During a drive through the night the couple accidentally strikes a man with their car and kills him. In order to not get caught Jimmy does the unexpected and they must flee. If you have seen Natural Born Killers (1994) then this movie sounds oddly familiar. NBK was made far before Jimmy and Judy(2006) dared to challenge it. This movie is filmed like The Blair Witch and, more recently, Cloverfield. Unfortunately it is not filmed that well and a lot of the movie is very shaky and not always on target. However, it does give it a sense that the movie is actually happening and you are a long for the ride. The story is a bit bland and there isn't much new to it considering it has pretty much already been done. This movie does have some entertaining parts, including a scene with Jimmy's parents dressed in drag engaging in a humorous sex act, but it isn't the best. Overall I give this movie 3 stars. I liked it but it wasn't the greatest and I really feel it ripped off NBK. This is also not one of Edward Furlong's best performances.
