Jaws, 1975

I don't know how I've made it 28 years and consider myself a movie buff... This is my first time seeing Jaws. Of course, I know the John Williams score, I know it's why everyone is scared of going in the ocean, I know they make s Jaws 27 promo holograph eat Marty McFly in Back to the Future II. So yes, I finally saw Jaws. I'm happy to say that it wasn't overhyped. I came in with 1975 expectations, pre-CGI sharks, a young Richard Dreyfuss, bad fashion. I quite enjoyed it! Surprisingly so, the shark didn't seem as fake looking as I thought it would. In fact, if they would have made this today I have a feeling it wouldn't have been as scary. There was something in the crude nature of special effects of the era and somehow holds up quite well. It's hard to imagine that this is considered one of the first real summer blockbusters, but it also puts into perspective how far (or not far) we've come for summer entertainment.
