A super hero movie at its best. Downey Jr kicks butt from start to finish. The blu-ray version is absolutely gorgeous. A must see.

This movie is stereotypical Hollywood. Behind a thin veneer of special effects and trite swimsuit characters is a typical liberal fantasy about how force/weapons should never be used (thus, in the real world allowing the most ruthless dictators in the world to enslave the rest).
I must also comment on the special effects. We all live in the real world and see how objects move. However, with all the money devoted to special effects, these designers still cannot replicate basic physics revealed by Newton centuries ago. In this movie, we once again see people falling under arbitrary gravity forces like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. The makers are obviously trying to make this appear real, so why the total lapse of physics knowledge?
The MPAA should provide ratings for the MAXIMUM recommended age of viewers in addition to the minimum age. This movie is likely not very entertaining for anyone older than 20 (mentally).

The wittiest and most relevant superhero movie I've seen in a long time. The sleek art direction and uber-cool modern aesthetics were only two of the film's many virtues for me. What I most loved was the humor, which was classic Robert Downey Jr. It was a treat to see him in such a fitting role and great form. Perfect casting down to all the villains and the minor characters. Loved every second of this! ~NN

Casual fans of action superhero movies will undoubtedly be disappointed in Iron Man. Because it's not full throttle action from beginning to end. Instead Jon Favreau made a smart, thoughtful movie that just happens to feature a super-heroic SUIT with a man inside of it. I enjoyed this a lot, without knowing a ton about the characters going into it, and look forward to the many sequels.

Robert Downey Jr. feels loose and comfortable with his role as Tony Stark, and this makes the movie flow incredibly well. As an audience you will want to know what happens to him and in the process you will be awarded by amazing action sequences....
