The violence was too much for me and the first scene was waaaay too long.
Christopher Waltz was great.

It wasnt ment to characterise persons, it wasnt meant to show real happenings, all it was made for is entertainment and it does it 100 percent. Camera work, plot, dialogs, tension, real life silly situations, blood... as I said - 100 percent entertainment. 9,9/10

What more can I say? It was crisp and perty, with some interesting shots, and the music was good. There were some cool moments in dialogue. The violence was unpleasant as it was typical of many films nowadays. And...there was very nearly no plot. Many of the characters and scenes were meaningless. The only character who had an actual story was Emmanuelle, and she had relatively little screen time. So why am I supposed to care? Just because the Nazis were horrible and this film hits 'em straight on? It means nothing. It's fiction. The whole film was merely up to today's standards and ultimately quite dull.

Once it gets past the necessary setup, albeit an hour-long setup, Inglorious Basterds finally becomes quintessential Quentin. But that first hour is rough. For starters, it's almost all in German, meaning the audience has to endure subtitles, which is never good considering there is so much happening in each scene that reading hinders the audience's ability to recognize the hidden gems in Tarantino's direction. Once that plot is established and everyone knows what's going on, it's a fun ride. Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) leads an underground group of Jewish-American soldiers who systematically take down Nazis and spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping the ones they kill. Their ultimate mission is to kill Hitler, German war hero Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Bruhl), "Jew Hunter" Col. Hans Landa (Christopher Waltz) and a propaganda filmmaker. Meanwhile a defected Jew (Melanie Laurent) now owning a Cinema and living in France is planning her own attack on the Nazis. Of course there are twists and turns that make this film rank among Tarantino's best better than Kill Bill Vol. 1, but not as lasting as Pulp Fiction. tinyurl.com/filmfan

Nice
Really nice and funny.
I did like the plot-although it's a kind of science-fiction.
Unforgettable quotes and violent scenes accompanied by great music, that's what I most liked.

The overall story of this film is nice, from its main idea to its final conclusion. But it was moving too slow. I have no problem with slow movies, when they deserve it. The long, stretched conversations made me want to jump out of my sit and finish watching. I was able to sit through it but It could have been much better. With its cool idea and amazing style, I would have expected more action in the form of Kill Bill-meets-WW2. I was expecting many cool action sequences, like the one in the bar, but I got so little of them and so many of those unnecessary talks...

"INGLORIOUS BASTERDS" is an entertaining revenge fantasy enlivened by Quentin Tarantino's patented set pieces or vignettes, which are fascinating. Some of them may go on a tad too long, but they're always interesting. Superior acting, especially by Christopher Waltz, along with snappy and off-kilter dialog as well as quirky characters, makes for a movie that proceeds briskly in spite of its overall length. The basic plot has a guerrilla troop of Jewish-American soldiers slaughtering Nazis in German-occupied France towards the end of WWII. It's the fantasy part of "revenge fantasy" that's a little troubling when we get to the ahistorical ending of the film, something you have to chalk up to the director's genius or perversity. Sound quality of the DVD is excellent, and there's a short extra that pretends to be an original Nazi propaganda film, one that plays a role in "Inglorious Basterds" itself.
