This movie had two of my favorite things going for it: Cary Grant and infidelity. Or, so I thought. Even though it let me down somewhat, I still thoroughly enjoyed myself, considering the highlight of the whole movie was Cary's priceless dancing. But, I found it somewhat lacking. I was promised a secret, and I didnt get one! I think that is what bums me out more than anything because the movie isn't bad, rather it was pretty entertaining and it had its moments, but once I expected something so highly and never received it, my overall perception of the movie just diminishes to an almost meager rating. Cute, but not incredible and is maybe only worth a watch on TMC. 3 stars. 3/31/09

A movie about a woman who meets a married man (wink) and falls in love with him - the movie really never goes anywhere or provides any real fun. Grant and Bergman are both great actors, but they're really never given anything to do here - except Grant shows off some crazy dance moves. The missing element is this movie never really creates the emotions you'd expect - the building love, betrayal and final resolution, it's all pretty emotionless. The secondary characters are the only ones that really stick out as funny or memorable. The scenes and wardrobes are very good looking and dazzling in some cases, but it comes down to the dialogue and the lack of any real fun and wit that you'd expect from Grant in a comedy. It's still some fun seeing Bergman and Grant together and I wouldn't dissuade people from seeing it, but it's not one of their better films.
