Indy is a superhero. He can survive situations that'd kill most folks & that's what makes watching him so fun. But in this film everyone around him seems to have superhuman abilities; like swinging from vines, leaping from car to car, surviving huge waterfalls etc. That's Indy's job. He's supposed to be the one saving the day, not the group he's with. Other than that, I found the movie entertaining but totally lacking the chemistry that made the earlier Jones' movies so great. Oh well.

Worst IJ movie ever. All because they let George Lucas contribute to the story line. I mean really, Aliens? They couldn't come up with a better plot than that?

True to Indiana Jones style, this movie kept the cheesy lines and impossible scenarios.. I appreciated the nostalgia and was entertained.

I've seen lots of hate from the fanboys in the house, but it's not that bad.
However, it's not flawless, some moments have a WTF feeling to them (Really, he survives a nuclear attck by hiding in a fridge?), as well as other things.

However, it's not flawless, some moments have a WTF feeling to them (Really, he survives a nuclear attck by hiding in a fridge?), as well as other things.
However, if you look at it on it's own merits, it's an enjoyable, action-packed romp.
Compare it to the rest of the quadrology, however, and it ends up in last place.

Firstly, I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan. I consider the Raiders and Last Crusade to be two of my favorites of all time, in top 5 for sure. I sat down to watch this apprehensively. I don't trust Lucas anymore and who knows what Spielberg would do. But I will say, this met and surpassed all my hopes.
This is Indiana Jones. There is adventure, mystery, car chases, humor that pops up out of nowhere, a hunt for an artifact, a fight against good and evil, it's all there. Harrison was made for this role and puts it on as simply as putting the hat and whip on. Everything he says, every expression and sly smile is perfect.
Some will be disappointed, my brother hated it. The ending can ruin it for some. I was not disappointed at all. Don't expect everything to be scientific or logical, it's Indiana Jones! It's about the adventure, the love for digging for lost treasure. Allen's return is handled with grace and humor, LeBeouf, though not the best addition, works in the film and gives a great performances. Loved the movie, wish they'd make another.

Nope, definitely not worthy of being made. There are so many things wrong with this, it's easy to pick on, but I'll focus on my biggest problems - the story and the story related action. The thing that made the previous releases at least entertaininng was that there was some shred of realism for the situations Indy got into and had to get out of... this movie is too far-fetched to even watch. From the initial sequence right through the vine swinging Tarzan scenes to a vehicle on the edge of a cliff to the final miserable letdown of an ending, it all gets to unrealistic that you're just sighing with disbelief. Secondly, the story is sooooo boring and involves so many characters that seems to one-dimensional that it becomes boring. It was great to see Karen Allen, but her acting this time around stunk - as did Shia and even Blanchett. If it took them this long to get a story they could all agree was good enough to make, and it was this bad - I hope they don't agree to make another.

Crap, i didn't like this movie one bit. What a disaster for this franchise, and it had this hint of scientology to it, which drove me nuts!

"INDIANA JONES & THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL" is a real stinker, a movie that's about as phony and calculated (to make money) as a film could be. It's mind-boggling to think of all the time, talent and money wasted on this rotter. The story, if one can call it that, is basically one long chase - our cliched heroes are pursued every 10 minutes by cars, motorcycles, trucks, boats, scorpions, raging rivers, and more. There is zero suspense because they are impervious to guns, knives, spears, blasts and hurt of any kind. Most comic books are more realistic and a heck of a lot more fun that this silly and unsatisfying fluff without an original thought, word or image in its head. It's less a film than it is a marketing event. Don't be taken in!
