Summary of I Know What You Did Last Summer

After a post-graduation Fourth of July beer blast, four tipsy teens accidentally smash up a pedestrian with their car, and, in a panic, dispose of the almost-dead body in the ocean. Sure enough, the following summer, the reunited group is stalked by a mysterious figure clad in fisherman's garb--replete with fish hook. A putative echo of screenwriter Kevin Williamson's mega-hit "Scream," substituting that movie's inside-jokiness for genuine feelings of guilt and angst.

Critics Reviews

Entertainment Weekly
The story has more holes than the bodies do, but the shocks are efficient, and Party of Five's Jennifer Love Hewitt knows how to scream with soul.
Variety
A polished genre piece with superior fright elements.

Users Reviews

Not great but not bad
More interesting than all other teen movies that came out during the same period and it still gave me my horror fix for some time after. I guess all in all it's ok, even if you are not a teenager.
