If you turn the sound off you'd think you were watching a well produced nature show. The CGI is that good. Turn the sound back on & you're treated to an endearing tail set to some really great music.

I loved the music. The penguins were cute. Baby mumbles was precious. But overall, I thought it was way too long. There was one point that I thought it would end and it didnt. It just kept going. After that, I got bored w/ it.

A movie about dancing penguins, how cute! ...I was waaay off. The plot was confusing and disconnected, the movie went from underdog story to alien mystery to conservation propaganda in about a hot minute. The over-sexualized penguins (singing 'I'll Make Love to You', 'Let's Talk About Sex', etc.) were creepy, and the over-the-top racial stereotyping was insulting. A stinker through and through.

I went in to this expecting Ice Age or Shrek. Something light hearted. That it is not.
Think March of the Penguins combined with Moulin Rouge Music sung by CGI characters.
Overall, I liked it. Some stereo types could have been down played.

I went in to this expecting Ice Age or Shrek. Something light hearted. That it is not.
Think March of the Penguins combined with Moulin Rouge Music sung by CGI characters.
Overall, I liked it. Some stereo types could have been down played.
My 6 yr old girl was tired and couldn't stay awake but this is her type of movie usually. My 8 yr old son very much enjoyed it.

The film also has an important message about enviromental issues. Overall, it's a good movie for kids to enjoy and learn something from at the same time.

PENGUINS SING & DANCE
The review title says it all. It's a story about a child's ambition, and his parents' disapproval. All the penguins sing, but he wants to dance! And so he's alienated and goes on a quest to find where he can live his dream, far from all the penguins. This movie was a great success, and with a good reason. Excellent, educational fun for children and grownups alike. I'm sure you'll want to buy the DVD and watch it again and again.
